In this latest edition of CBPWeetje, you’ll find a fresh cleaning tip for the summer, an honest assessment of the past few months, including a serious incident that deeply affected us, and news about the site visits made by our health and safety adviser, who is there for you on site.

🧹 Cleaning tip: Cleaning fly screens

With summer just around the corner, now is the perfect time to give your fly screens a thorough clean. Follow these steps for a spotless result:

Carefully remove the fly screen from the window frame.
Rinse the screen under lukewarm running water to remove loose dust and dirt.
Make a soapy solution of warm water with a few drops of washing-up liquid.
Gently scrub the mesh with a soft brush or sponge, never use an abrasive cleaner!
Rinse thoroughly with clean water and allow the screen to dry completely before refitting it.
Also check the window frame for dirt and wipe it dry before refitting.

✔ Tip: Clean your windows on a cloudy day or in the shade, that way they’ll dry more slowly and you’ll be able to spot any streaks more easily.

⚠️ Serious workplace accident: fall from a staircase

A serious workplace accident occurred recently in which an employee fell down a flight of stairs. Safety is our top priority. Following this incident, a specific toolbox has been developed containing practical tips on stair safety. You will find this toolbox attached to this newsletter.

What is a toolbox session? A toolbox session is a short, practical safety session during which we discuss a specific topic relating to prevention or wellbeing at work. Your input and questions are vital!

🏠 New: visits from our prevention adviser

Since March 2026, our prevention adviser has been making monthly visits to clients’ homes, focusing on safety, prevention and wellbeing.

During these visits, we also check that the cleaning equipment provided is safe and in good working order, such as cleaning products, a stepladder and other equipment.

Together, we’re working to create a safe working environment!

ℹ️ Did you know that... DCO Beerse vzw is one of the few companies in the sector to organise such home visits by the health and safety adviser! In this way, we aim to actively invest in our staff so that they can work in a safe environment.
