The law transposing the European Whistleblowing Directive into Belgian law for privécompanies will come into force this year. For DCO Beerse vzw, like many other organisations, this brings with it a number of new obligations.
Eéone of these obligations is the establishment of an internal reporting channel on which breaches of certain legislation are detected at an early stage, dealt with and at the same time provides effective protection for whistleblowers ( = the persons making the report ).
The whistleblower can be an ( ex ) employee, volunteer, job applicant, directors,…. Very important is that the whistleblower can make a report anonymously if she wishes to do so.
