Newsletter - December 2025

Dear colleague,

The year is flying by and suddenly it is already December! The time of Christmas markets, cosy evenings and - hopefully - also some moments of rest for you all.
What a year it has been! You worked really hard and helped so many families. We are extremely grateful for that. Now it's time to think of yourself too: enjoy the holidays, take time for yourself, your family and your relatives.
December is also 'gift month' at DCO Beerse vzw! We have some nice surprises for you: a Saint Nicholas present, a gift cheque and a New Year's surprise. You will find more info on these later in this newsletter.
You will also read about some important practical points.
But most importantly: we wish you happy, warm holidays and a happy, healthy 2026. Because without good health, we cannot do what we love to do.

Communication with office

As an office, we do our best every day to assist our domestic helpers with their questions and needs. Depending on the question, the answer may take a while and this is always communicated as such. What is important in the good cooperation between the office staff and the domestic workers is that communication (physical, via e-mail, via app Alundi DC and via phone) always takes place with the necessary respect towards each other.

On an anomaly:

Onetime: Adjusted hours must be communicated to the office in advance and then the employee comes to the office within 15 days from the date of deviation for signing this one-time adjustment of hours worked.
Long-term: If you want to make a permanent adjustment, you have to give it to the office well in advance ( like 1 month). Then, the necessary administrative procedures will be done and you will have to come by the office for signing this adjustment of your hours on employment contract.

Consequences for non-compliance with the above agreements:

If the office is not aware of adjustments to working hours and the employee suffers an accident at work, our insurance will not intervene so the costs are not borne by the company.
If the office is not aware of the adjustments to the working hours, then these cannot be paid either because according to your employment contract, you are not working for our company at that time.

Holiday attestation 2025

Employees who started within our company in 2025 must provide their holiday certificate from the previous employer to our human resources department via HR@dcobeerse.be and this at the latest by 7 January 2026.

Customer contribution

Since 1 July 2025, within DCO Beerse vzw, we have been asking for a customer contribution. This means that on top of the payment via service cheque, our clients pay an extra contribution per hour of domestic help performed. We notice in the office that it is not always clear to our domestic workers why we charge these contributions and would like to clarify this.

Why do we ask our customers this?

Invest in our employees by offering training and education.
Invest in our employees by having job coaches come to the workplace (at the client's premises) to provide coaching and guidance.
Investing in our customers by job coaches who visit the workplace at the customer's request to share their expertise and experience (organisation of work, cleaning products and materials, safety and welfare, etc.).
Giving our employees a strong pay package: our employees enjoy an above-average pay package within the service voucher sector.
Increasing digitalisation: The continuous investment in ICT applications and digitalisation comes with additional costs.

Sinterklaas and New Year's greetings

December also means 'gift month' and also within DCO Beerse vzw we provide some gifts for all our employees:

Sinterklaas: From 5 December 2025, you can come to the office to pick up a tasty surprise.
Gift voucher Pluxee: No later than 31 December 2025, Pluxee's meal voucher card will be charged 30&euros; per employee.
New Year: From 5 January 2026, you are welcome to come to the office to pick up your New Year's gift.

Labour Day: Friday, May 1, 2026
Our Holy Ascension: Thursday, May 14, 2026
Pentecost Monday: Monday, May 25, 2026
National holiday: Tuesday, July 21, 2026
One day of Ascension: Saturday, August 15, 2026 (rescheduled to Monday, August 17, 2026)
All Saints' Day: Sunday, November 1, 2026 (moved to Thursday, December 24, 2026)
Arms Day: Wednesday, November 11, 2026
Christmas mass: Friday, 25 December 2026

On the above dates, the office is closed and our employees should not work.
