Hopefully you enjoyed a nice and enjoyable holiday or are still fully enjoying a well-deserved break at the moment.
We are quietly approaching September, the beginning of a new school year & hobbies as well as the start-up at work after the holiday period.
In this newsletter, we highlight some important points again as well as some new points of interest.
At DCO Beerse vzw, we believe it is very important to have open and transparent communication with our employees based on mutual respect. This therefore means talking to our staff, offering a listening ear and looking for solutions together.
This does not mean talking to employees' partners as they do not have a contractual agreement with our company. Lately, unfortunately, we have been experiencing many problems with partners of employees coming to the office to get their 'redress' after a discussion between the office and an employee. The tone of these conversations is very noisy and verbally aggressive. Therefore, we will no longer engage with your partner and only with you as an employee of DCO Beerse vzw.
The office is always ready to help you further and all our employees are welcome to visit the office.
The Belgian government recently launched the Federal Learning Account (FLA or Federal Learning Account). This is an important step towards centralised control of workers' training rights.
Regular training and education is very important. As a company, we offer various training courses throughout the year. Registration is free and training hours count as hours worked.
The topics of the training courses vary, ranging from ergonomics and first aid to mental well-being and communication in the workplace. By offering a wide range of topics, we hope to provide interesting training for each of our employees.
All employees in Belgium can consult their training account via mycareer.be. Here you can find which training courses you have taken as well as the number of hours of training are listed here.

We note that schedules and paper Service Cheques issued at the office are sometimes in poor condition. Hereby, we would like to once again draw attention to the importance of schedules, cheques being issued in a timely and orderly manner.
This means that both documents should have no tears and creases as well as no spots of food waste.
If, as an employee, you are struggling with mental problems, you are not feeling well in your skin and the cause is related to your work, you can turn to an internal and external contact within DCO Beerse vzw. It is important to report mental complaints, complaints related to transgressive behaviour in time so that they do not just stay with you. Only by talking about it can we as a company help you further. Discussing mental problems is a 1st step towards recovery and is very important. Such conversations are of course confidential.
After two recent cases of verbal abuse at reception in two days, we would like to stress that only employees can communicate with us, and not their partners. Please inform your partner about this. We are willing to interact with our employees, but this does not apply to employees' partners. We make no exceptions to this. We take this issue very seriously and will take appropriate action against anyone who commits verbal abuse. We ask for your understanding and cooperation to create a safe and respectful working environment for everyone.
